I love books

An exciting thing has happened to me as of late. As sad as it sounds, I started reading books again. When I was in highschool I tore through novels like it was nothing. I was always in the middle of the latest Crichton, Grisham, or Clancy novel. For some reason, during college though, I stopped reading for fun. I think all those hours of being forced to read things I didn’t want to started to make me look at reading like it was more of a chore than privilege. Also during that time the distraction of the internet became such a powerful force. Why sit down and read the same thing on paper for an hour when you can read 50 different things at the same time on a computer screen? I think the internet helped bring about a slight case of adult onset ADD for me. So despite all that I am happy to say that I am now starting to read again. I’ve gotten through 3 books in the last 2 months or so which may not sound like very much to you, but for me that I is a big deal. I’m excited to start discovering some amazing new books.

I was actually planning on just sharing a quote from one of the books that I’m reading in this post, but now that I’ve gotten this far, I’ll think I’ll save the quote for another day. What books are you in the middle of? Do you have any good suggestions for me?
